Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Verified Communications Inc. of Toronto, Ontario operates VAIV. We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, work email, company name and website.
- Scan setup: your category, country, competitor names, buyer questions and coverage links you add.
- Scan results: AI answers, cited sources and scores.
- Requests you send us, such as Authority Engine or consulting enquiries.
- Usage: pages visited and key actions (for example, starting a scan), counted without identifying you.
Why we collect it
To run your account and scans, produce your reports, respond to requests, bill you, keep the service secure, and understand which parts of VAIV are used so we can improve it. We only use it for these purposes, or others we ask your consent for.
Where it's processed
Our app and database run on Lovable Cloud (built on Supabase). To run scans we send prompts to OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google and SerpApi, and we send email through Resend. These providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We choose providers with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account or ask us to.
- Scan data: 24 months from the scan, then deleted or anonymised.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in. For analytics we use privacy-friendly tools (Plausible, or our own simple counts) that don't use advertising cookies or track you across sites.
We don't sell your data
We never sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing victoria@verifiedcomms.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Email (CASL)
We send transactional emails only: account, scan and request messages. We send occasional VAIV updates only if you opt in at sign-up, and every update includes a way to unsubscribe.
